Issue 87 - January 3, 2007

From Your Director ...

Happy New Year! I hope 2007 is kind to you. My father used to say, "If you want to be different, do something different, and you can make a difference." What a challenge for all of us.

JDDC says thank you to Board Members whose term expired: Susan Cook (JEA), Dennis Henderson (TLM Associates), John New (Bancorp South), and Harbert Alexander, Sr. They have served JDDC well over the years, and we appreciate their past service. They will certainly be missed.

We welcome new Board Members: Harbert Alexander, Jr. (The Bank of Jackson), Dale Conder (Rainey, Kizer, Reviere & Bell, P.L.C.), James Dusenbery (Regions/AM South Bank), and Steve Raper (JEA). These new Board Members bring a lot of talent and expertise to our Board, and we look forward to working with them.

Officers for 2007 are; Chairman: Sammy West (Hart, Freeland, Roberts, Inc.), President: Hal Crocker (Crocker Construction), Vice President: Gary Grisham (Bancorp South), Secretary: Donna Frankland (Bryant Glasgon Architect), and Treasurer: Frank McMeen (West Tennessee Healthcare). It really should be a great year for our organization and downtown with this caliber of leadership. What fun to go into the new year with your "guns loaded."

We hope your dreams, wishes and goals are met in 2007. Take a good look at where you want to be.

You'll be glad you did!!!

Lofts Available Downtown

Frank McMeen has completed and decorated his Concrete Plant Loft Apartments, 210 East Orleans. He has permanent residents in three of the units, but has retained two units as fully furnished extended stay luxury lofts, available by the day, week, or longer.

What a wonderful opportunity for corporate citizens to enjoy their stay while doing business in Jackson. The cost is very reasonable and comparable to going market rates.
