Issue 85 - December 20, 2006

From Your Director ...

The Christmas Season is supposed to be a time of reflection, enjoying family and friends, relaxing and being able to slow down just a little. How come it feels like I have had to step up the pace, have had to do double duty, been out every evening either shopping or attending events, and have that panicking feeling that I'll never get it all done? I know you've all been there, done that. Last night, I did my final shopping at the mall. I told my husband when I got out of the car, "Cover me, I'm going in, don't let me get lost in the crowd" and he just laughed. But I realized I needed to remember what this is all about.

I will be delighted when my granddaughters eyes light up when she opens her gift, just the right thing. My grandson will be pleased at the car things we found for his '82 Oldsmobile (even though they don't make them anymore). My son won't still be mad when he tastes the Tennessee Smoked Turkey I bought (he wanted ham), and my daughter knows I know what she likes. So all in all, it will be worth it.

I will have several days to let down this year the way the holiday falls, so I'll have plenty of time to re-group.

You take time to enjoy what it is all about, reflection, family and friends. You'll be glad you did!!!
