Issue 84 - December 13, 2006

From Your Director ...

Shopping downtown is a great and fun experience. The establishments are unique and special. From the exciting treasures, Yesterdays Antique Store, Jaco's Music Store, the three flower shops; Alicia's Flowers and Gifts, Huntspon Flower Box, and City Florist, to the three diverse art galleries; Art Under A Hot Tin Roof, Dickson Gallery of Fine Art, and Marguerites, you are sure to find something very special.

There are three furniture stores; Furniture World, Lafayette Thrift Market, and Station's Rent to Own, a very impressive apparel boutique, le Divas, and two wonderful establishments The Shops of the Painted Lady and the Neely House Artopia that offer an array of individual specialty shopping opportunities. You can also find two beauty shops, a grocery store, and a drug store.

And something really important about your shopping experience downtown is that someone will smile at you when you walk in, ask if they can help you, and then assist you with your shopping experience. WOW! It's great to be waited on by someone that really wants to and knows what they are doing.

The people who will wait on you are typically the owner, the risk taker, the "dedicated employee". They work long hours with very little time off just keeping the doors open. Their stock is hand picked and depicts the care that was taken to provide "just the right thing". How can you resist?

So . . . come on downtown and experience all it has to offer. You'll be glad you did!!!
