Issue 78 - November 1st, 2006

From Your Director . . .

Fabulous Friday . . . was fabulous. The BPW Dinner and Walking Tour had a great turn out and a big thank you to those attending for braving the stormy night to see downtown landmark's pasts and to Pat Alford and the Jackson Teen Theater Group for their great "spirits."

Marguerite's fundraiser for "Make a Wish Foundation" and the Downtown Tavern's fundraiser for "Relay For Life" brought hundreds downtown, The Dickson Gallery of Fine Arts held a wonderful pottery show and Lola's Bar and Grill had a great dance party that were both well attended what can I say Jackson downtown does have a nightlife.

On Saturday, the 2nd Annual Halloween Extravaganza was also a huge success with ghosts, goblins, fairy princesses and spidermen walking the street, as well as being showcased on live TV by E-Plus TV6. Thank you to the costume judges: Jacque Hillman, West Tennessee Parent & Family Magazine, Dana Brooks, Main Street Art Studios, and Lisa Moore Davidson of Davidson Design. They really had a tough job.

And to top it off, dn English held her annual "Ghost Stories of Jackson," again bringing several hundred downtown on Monday evening. This Halloween extended week-end was truly a success as we continue to bring people downtown to experience "their downtown." Something to be proud of.
