From Your Director . . .

If you haven't driven down Highland Avenue lately, you're in for a visual treat. A lot of people have consciously chosen a new route to come downtown during the construction project, but it's time to take a look at the progress. Some of the retaining walls are fully constructed including sod that was put in place just this last week. The majestic old houses that were damaged during the tornado stand tall and stately with their new front entrances.

The city is making a major investment in our downtown with this street project as the entrance to downtown is very critical to our re-development efforts. You can now get a good idea of what the finished product is going to look like. So ... drive down Highland Avenue and take a look. You'll be proud of what your City is doing for your downtown.

Baker's Rack's Move a Success

The Baker's Rack move from 100 East Baltimore Street to 205 East Lafayette Street has been a roaring success. Several people have called wanting to know where the restaurant had moved to. The West's opened their doors at the 205 East Lafayette facility on the 5th of June, and the single dining room with additional space has proven to be a very savey business decision. Be sure to stop by and see the new digs. For take out orders you can call 424.6163.
