From Your Director . . .

On behalf of Jackson Downtown Development Corporation (JDDC) I would like to to invite you to visit Jackson's wonderful downtown. What a difference three years can make. In this short span of time, the charm and history of downtown Jackson has dramatically been transformed back into the dynamic, diverse and distinctive retail, residential and business environment that you see today.

Connecting businesses, government, and the community with each other and serving as a valuable resource center, JDDC is devoted to the development, preservation and expansion of Jackson's Downtown. The Urban Land Institute Study (ULI) delivers a comprehensive plan for the future of the Historic Downtown. It serves as a road map that can be followed and gives strong direction as to how to carry out the plan itself.

The leadership of JDDC is striving to accomplish the goals established in our Program of Work. The JDDC Board listens and works with the Mayor and City Council, the City Administration, County Mayor and County Commissioner to achieve our common objectives and goals. As the heart of the region, we must all share in the vision for the community as a whole.

JDDC is very excited about the future of the downtown and hope that it will be a place that your business and your family can be proud of and will enjoy for years to come.
