Issue 155 - April 23, 2008

From Your Director ...

April 25th is fast approaching. Not only is it the end of another work week, but it’s also Fabulous Friday in downtown Jackson! For those of you, who have never experienced it, consider exploring downtown for a night of shopping, dining, entertainment, and fun.

Feel like music? Come enjoy Randolph Robinson and the Widdershins as they will be “Lettin’ Loose on Lafayette Street.” Bring your lawn chair and enjoy the live performance outside and don't miss the art of Grove Robinson inside Art Under A Hot Tin Roof.  If you’re more of a sit and listen type of person, then visit St. Luke’s Holy Grounds Coffee House as the Dirt Pilgrims perform or check out the live performances at Downtown Tavern and Main Street Live.

Feeling Romantic? Lassie from The Cotton Sack will begin offering horse and buggy rides downtown!

Feel like shopping? The Dickson Gallery of Fine Art will present a “Just in Time for Mother’s Day” Jewelry Show preview party. If antiques are your cup of tea, stroll down to Yesterday’s Antiques for something old and new to you! Visit the Shops of The Painted Lady and The Neely House for unique alternatives to regular, boring retail.

Feel Hungry? Café Capone’s at the Neely House will be open in conjunction with Fabulous Friday as well as Subway, Dixie Castle, Popeye’s and Pizza Hut! Perhaps you just want to relax, enjoy a latte at downtown Starbucks.

Feel like a makeover? Appeal Beauty Salon is offering half off all services Friday night! Blades will be open to help bring out the “new you,” and Sheri will have live music outside.

If arts and museums are what sparks your interest the International Rock-A-Billy Hall of Fame will be giving free tours. Main Street Art Studios will be showcasing their works and Wolfe Enterprises will offer free tours of their West Tennessee Cultural Heritage Museum.

This Friday is looking FABULOUS ... we look forward to seeing you Downtown!

Welcome to the future of Downtown Jackson ... one we can invent together!
