Issue 154 - April 16, 2008

From Your Director ...

If you've been downtown lately, you've probably seen the trees and flowers in bloom. You'll notice people outside again and downtown seems to be bustling with activities. This is the time of year when everyone gets Spring Fever. We begin planting flowers and gardens and long to be outdoors….

This is a great time to visit The West Tennessee Farmers Market and pick up something deliciously fresh produce, chat with friendly vendors and discover the latest goodies they have to offer.

Did you know the street address for The West Tennessee Farmers Market is 91 New Market Street? The number represents the year The West Tennessee Farmers Market was founded. Also, did you know the Yoshino cherry grove was planted by Judge Blake Anderson in memory of his late wife Teresa? These cherry blossom trees are lovely right now and the blossoms smell so sweet.

If you're experiencing Spring Fever, don't miss the Daylily Society's Semi-Annual Plant Sale this Saturday at The West Tennessee Farmers Market. All plants are donated by members and these award winning daylilies come in many colors, shapes & flower sizes.

Welcome to the future of Downtown Jackson ... one we can invent together!
