Issue 153 - April 9, 2008

From Your Director ...

In an effort to begin combating childhood obesity, the City of Jackson and the Jackson Madison County School System are sponsoring a wellness walk on April 19, 2008.  The "Jump Start Jackson" event aims to help raise awareness of childhood obesity and to encourage children and their parents to begin living a more healthy lifestyle.

Join Mayor Gist, Dr. Zambito and hundreds of school children and their families as they march for community wellness. The three mile walk will loop from the Jackson Fairgrounds, through the Farmer's Market, and return to the Fairgrounds.  For more information or to register contact Annette Wilson at 664.2516 or Sandy MacDiarmid at 425.8316.  The Walk is just one event in a month-long focus on Community Wellness and making Jackson “The Healthiest City in Tennessee”.

Welcome to the future of Downtown Jackson ... one we can invent together!
