Issue 151 - March 26, 2008

From Your Director ...

West Tennessee Healthcare Cancer Center, West Tennessee Healthcare Foundation and Jackson Downtown Development Corporation are proud to present the "Expressions of a Cancer Journey" Art Exhibition in downtown Jackson. This exhibition includes artwork from the 2006 Lilly Oncology on Canvas Art Competition and Exhibition, an international art exhibit, sponsored by Eli Lilly and Company. The exhibit honors the journey of those affected by cancer by raising awareness of their challenges and triumphs through art.

The exhibition will begin with a tribute to cancer survivors at City Hall. Then, artwork will be displayed at various businesses in downtown Jackson throughout the month of April. A map of the exhibition locations will be available on our website soon.

Our hope is that this exhibition will encourage and inspire local artists to submit artwork in the 2008 Lilly Oncology on Canvas Art Competition and Exhibition. If you would like to learn more about the contest, click here to visit the Lilly Oncology on Canvas site.

We think this exhibition is a wonderful way to celebrate spring and the renewal of life. We look forward to sharing this artwork with you, while you stroll through our lovely downtown and get to know many of our unique downtown businesses.

Welcome to the future of Downtown Jackson ... one we can invent together!
