Issue 147 - February 27, 2008

From Your Director ...

Jackson Downtown Development Corporation is proud to report the progress that was made in 2007 towards the revitalization of downtown Jackson. Last year, 15 new and unique businesses opened their doors downtown. There were 23 building improvement projects which produced a total private investment valued at over $1 million. The Highland Avenue and Royal Street improvements have greatly enhanced the look of downtown’s main thoroughfares. These and 6 other public improvement projects produced a total public investment of over $5 million.

These reinvestment statistics show our community’s commitment to the revitalization of downtown Jackson. These visible changes are the result of a labor of love for those that are passionate about downtown. If you haven’t been downtown in a while, come see the changes and improvements that are continually taking place. We are so proud of the progress that has been made and we look forward to a future filled with possibilities.

Welcome to the future of Downtown Jackson ... one we can invent together!
