From Your Director ...

Happy New Year! This is an exciting time of reflection and preparation. Jackson Downtown Development Corporation (JDDC) takes great pride in our growth and accomplishments toward the revitalization of downtown Jackson. We look forward to the opportunities and challenges of 2008.

JDDC would like to thank our dedicated Board Members whose term expired in 2007: John Allen (John H. Allen Company, Inc.), dn English (Main Street Publishing), Laurie Horton (Horton & Associates). They have served JDDC well during their tenure and we greatly appreciate their commitment and service. They will certainly be missed.

We would like to offer a warm welcome to our new Board Members: Josh Allen (John H. Allen Company, Inc.), Theresia Bledsoe (Bledsoe Funeral Home, Inc.) and Jerry Corley (Downtown Tavern) and Jacquelyn Marshall (Regions Bank). These new Board Members bring a great deal of talent and expertise to our Board and we look forward to working with them.

Officers for 2008 are: Chairman: Hal Crocker (Crocker Construction), President: Gary Grisham (Bancorp South), Vice President: Dr. Fred Zuker (Lambuth University), Secretary: Donna Frankland (The Frankland Company), and Treasurer: Steve Raper (JEA).

JDDC is fortunate to have such a dynamic Board to help further our mission. There is no doubt that we will be hugely successful in 2008. May the New Year bring you peace, prosperity and happiness.

Welcome to the future of Downtown Jackson ... one we can invent together!
