Issue 138 - December 26, 2007

From Your Director ...

A cozy Main Street in the south lies
caressed by hills and azure skies
A church spire blesses a wooded street
Families and neighbors pass by and greet

Nestled in fog this tiny vale
holds a treasure-protected from storm and gale
Homes aglow with holiday lights
greet each traveler on cold winter nights

Brighter than all, downtown gleams
with electric ice and windows of dreams
Proudly reflecting each merchant’s wares
in hopes that a customer soon will be there

The aroma of coffee, the theater lights
beckon all to enjoy December sights
Someone you know ‘round every bend
heart-warming smiles meet stranger and friend

A magic feeling from a time long ago
Main Street brings warmth to those who know
Nothing on earth is as precious and rare
as a town with a heart and people who care.
