From Your Director ...

Jackson Downtown Development Corporation is proud to bring vital information about disaster preparedness to the Jackson community at November’s First Friday Forum. The presentation, “Be Ready Jackson” will be given by Wanda Stanfill, Executive Director of the Jackson Area Chapter of The American Red Cross.

Disaster can strike quickly and without warning. It can force you to evacuate your neighborhood or confine you to your home. What would you do if basic services--water, gas, electricity or telephones--were cut off? Local officials and relief workers will be on the scene after a disaster, but they cannot reach everyone right away. Therefore, the best way to make your family and your home safer is to be prepared before disaster strikes.

The Red Cross is committed to helping individuals and families learn how to get ready, stay safe, cope with, and recover from disasters through Community Disaster Education (CDE). The more you know, the better you'll be able to deal with a disaster if it strikes. Please join us for this important educational opportunity at First United Methodist Church on Friday, November 2, at 12:00 p.m. For more information, contact Jackson Downtown Development Corporation at 427.7573.

Welcome to the future of Downtown Jackson ... one we can invent together!
