Issue 128 - October 17, 2007

From Your Director ...

Have you noticed a chill in the air . . . so much is happening throughout our community it must be fall! We are delighted to have dn English bring the Ghost Tales of Downtown Jackson back to the City Hall lawn for it’s 5th year at 6:30 p.m., Tuesday, October 23rd. Started in 2003 with the assistance of The Premier Players, the event welcomes hundreds of people downtown to experience its’ ambiance and mystery. You will be captivated by the rich history of Jackson and undoubtedly learn some things you did not know before! Bring a lawn chair, maybe a blanket, pile the kids in the car and come downtown for this wonderful tradition.

With Halloween right around the corner it’s time to get out those old costumes or start your search for this year’s Fa”BOO”lous Friday costume. You’ve heard about it and now it is your chance to experience Downtown as the “Art and Soul” of Jackson, October 26th. The last Friday of every month, Art Galleries, Pubs, live music, participating shops and restaurants will be open from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Whether you wear your costume or come as yourself, there’s something for everyone!

And if you can’t make it Friday evening, visit downtown from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 27th for the Kids Halloween Extravaganza! Thank you to our Downtown Merchants who make this annual trick or treating event a safe, successful one each year! Maps will be available at participating merchants, or just look for the balloons!

Welcome to the future of Downtown Jackson ... one we can invent together!
