Jackson Union Sculpture Tour — Union University and the City of Jackson come together once again this fall to showcase five outdoor sculptures throughout beautiful, downtown Jackson. The 2007-2008 Jackson Union Sculpture Tour installation began Monday, September 24, 2007. This contemporary public display adds to the vibrant and energetic ambiance of downtown Jackson. Guests are welcome to attend any of the following installations and/or the opening reception as artists, collectors and the public experience and honor the visual arts in Jackson.

Wednesday, September 26, 2007: Mike Roig sculpture will be installed at the West Tennessee Farmer’s Market, 91 New Market St. at 7:00 a.m.

Thursday, September, 27, 2007: Jim Collins sculpture will be installed at the West Tennessee Farmer’s Market, 91 New Market St. at 12:30 p.m.

Thursday, September, 27, 2007: Jim Collins sculpture will be installed at the Carl Perkins Civic Center, 400 S. Highland Ave. at 2:30 a.m.

Thursday, September, 27, 2007: Jackson Union Sculpture Tour Reception at the Carnegie Center, 305 E. College St. at 7:00 p.m.

“Great Gatherings” is a demonstration of recipes that are great for families, parties and holiday gatherings.  Culinary specialists give step by step instructions with cooking tips and kitchen shortcuts.  Each guest receives a promotional gift bag, containing the Taste of Home Cooking School Cookbook magazine. Attendees also receive a registration card that provides everyone an opportunity to win special door prize drawings.

Household Hazardous Waste Collection Day

Do your part in protecting the environment by bringing harmful household wastes to the collection site.
Sponsored by the City of Jackson Stormwater Management, Jackson-Madison County Health Department, Keep Jackson Beautiful and Jackson Energy Authority. Collection is provided by the Tennessee Department of Environment and Conservation.
