JACKSON, TENNESSEE — Come down and experience the fabulous neighborhood our downtown has become. Friday, August 31st, it’s happening again. The last Friday of every month, downtown Jackson rolls out the "welcome" carpet for Fabulous Friday. Art Galleries, Pubs, participating shops and restaurants will be open from 7:00 to 9:00 pm.
In conjunction with Fabulous Friday, the Lettin’ Loose on Lafayette Block Party will feature the music of Ruby Ray starting at 7:30 p.m. Bring your lawnchair and enjoy the music sponsored by 2 Rare Gems and Downtown Tavern. A portion of the proceeds from the sale of food, provided by Downtown Tavern, will benefit the STAR Center.
2 Rare Gems, 112 E. Lafayette will welcome Californian contemporary jewelry artist Eric Silva to the gallery for an opening reception.
Downtown Tavern, 208 N. Liberty Street, will feature the music of Black on Tan. Tell the bartender you’re there for Fabulous Friday and your first domestic beer is on the house!
The Dickson Gallery of Fine Art, 118 E. Lafayette Street, will be open and celebrating their end of summer Margarita Party!
The Jackson Fairgrounds Park, 900 South Highland Avenue will kick off the 18th Annual African Street Festival.

St. Luke’s Church will be hosting the Holy Grounds Coffee House, 309 E. Baltimore, will display “Working Class: An exhibit of new 2D and 3D works,” by Joe Kendrick.
Marguerite’s, 124 E. Baltimore will host their monthly Galleries-A-Go-Go.
Artopia, 575 S. Royal, will feature music and art displays. Explore the array of open shops and enjoy dinner at Café Capone’s an Italian Steakhouse.
Art Under A Hot Tin Roof, and will be open at their 112 E. Lafayette location.
In addition to the special events, Denise Lasalle’s Blues Room, Dixie Castle, Jokes-n-Jamz, Lola’s Bar & Grill, Popeye’s Quiznos, Shooter’s, Starbucks and Subway will be open.
