JACKSON, TENNESSEE — Come down and experience the fabulous neighborhood our downtown has become. Friday, July 27th, it’s happening again. The last Friday of every month, downtown Jackson rolls out the "welcome" carpet for Fabulous Friday. Art Galleries, Pubs, participating shops and restaurants will be open from 7:00 to 9:00 pm.
In conjunction with Fabulous Friday, the Boogie on Baltimore Block Party will feature the music of The Soul Outsiders, a regular on Beale Street starting at 8:00 p.m. The event is FREE and sponsored by the Elks Building and will feature the businesses on Baltimore Street. Quiznos and Subway will offer discounts on their meals, and be sure to check out Marguerite’s art and merchandise. Starbucks, 112 E. Baltimore will be open for business and have satellite coffee stations downtown. Now is your chance to visit the newest business to join our downtown community.
The Dickson Gallery of Fine Art, 118 E. Lafayette Street, artists will feature “coffee art” to help welcome the venture downtown. If you’re a true coffee lover visit the Starbucks coffee station inside the gallery.
The Jackson Children’s & Teen Theatre will present the tale of Mowgli in “The Jungle Book” at The Ned R. McWherter West Tennessee Cultural Arts Center, 314 E. Main. Call 425.8587 to reserve your tickets.
Start your shopping for the holidays at the Shops of the Painted Lady, 415 E. Lafayette, during their Christmas in July Sale.
St. Luke’s Church will be hosting the Holy Grounds Coffee House, 309 E. Baltimore, featuring the works of 2 artists. For those enjoying the downtown scene, water, lemonade and popcorn will be available. The Jackson Moms Meetup will be onsite conducting the Share Our Strength Great American Bake Sale with proceeds benefiting hungry children.
